I started working at Waynesburg College in 1987. I’m the Director of the Educational Enrichment Program, counselor, and Coordinator of Alcohol and Drug Education. I teach Strategies for Academic Success, Introduction to Social Work, and Social Casework. I’m the advisor for the Commuting Student Organization and the Paintball Club. My favorite thing about my job is getting to know students!
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1980 and my Masters of Social Work degree in 1989 from West Virginia University. I’ve been a licensed social worker for the past 13 years.
I’m originally from High Bridge, NJ. After college, my first job was in Waynesburg working as a hospice social worker. My husband is a Waynesburg native and we are raising our two children in Waynesburg.
I love to read, travel (especially anywhere with an ocean!) and play tennis.

Hi, I'm Mary Hamilla. I joined the Educational Enrichment staff as a counselor in August of 2001. My counseling background includes working with families, couples, individuals, sexual assault victims, and families of addicts. I also taught courses in Human Development at Penn State before joining the Waynesburg College staff. My work here involves teaching Strategies for Academic Success, counseling students, and advising the Peer Educators.
I am an outdoor enthusiast who likes to garden, bike, walk, and watch drive-in movies with my family. In college I was an active painter and athlete (not necessarily good, but active). These days I primarily admire the fruits of others' efforts in these areas, but will take up the brush or the ball when time allows.
I am greatly enjoying my interaction with Waynesburg College students: helping them discover, develop and use their strengths both academically and personally.
