Program Requirements

In addition to the admissions requirements we require the student to meet the following criteria:

  • 3.0 undergraduate grade point average
  • Essay
  • Current resume
  • Pennsylvania Instructional certificate
  • Submission of two professional recommendations and statement of support forms. We suggest one completed by the Superintendent of Schools in the district where employed, and one from the principal of the school where currently employed. Forms are provided for this purpose.
  • Prior to the Internship: Pennsylvania Criminal Record and Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearances dated no more than 12 months prior to admission. FBI fingerprint clearance dated no more than 12 months prior to the internship. Negative TB test report dated no more than two years prior to the internship.

Candidates for principal certification will be required to successfully complete the appropriate School Leadership Licensure Assessment as well as meet all other requirements provided by law. Candidates should review all current state requirements via the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
