Waynesburg University will celebrate Homecoming 2013 Friday, October 4, through Saturday, October 5. A number of activities will be held for students, alumni and members of the community throughout the weekend.

“I am looking forward to welcoming back members of the University family during our Homecoming celebration this year,” said Waynesburg University President Douglas G. Lee. “It will be a great opportunity for alumni to renew friendships, meet current students and see what's new on campus.”

The weekend will offer a variety of scheduled activities, including athletic events, a 5K walk/run, campus tours, class reunions, fireworks, retro rooms, a photo booth and more.

“Homecoming Weekend is a very special event for our alumni,” said Heidi Szuminsky, director of donor and alumni relations. “We invite all of our alumni to return to campus for a weekend full of reunions, reconnecting and visiting campus. Here in the Alumni Office, we look forward to this event all year long. It gives us an opportunity to showcase our campus to our alumni—some who have not been back to campus for decades.”

The Yellow Jacket football team will take on Thiel College at 1:30 p.m. at John F. Wiley Stadium Saturday, Oct. 5.
