University to host fine arts day of enrichment
The Fine Arts Department at Waynesburg University will host E-3 Day: Explore, Enrich, Excel Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Events will take place in the University's Goodwin Performing Arts Center.
The event, described as “a fine arts immersion day,” is geared toward all fine arts students, grades 9 through 12. It will feature a series of workshops, master classes and competitions in all areas of the fine arts: art, music (vocal and instrumental) and theatre.
Waynesburg University faculty members and guest artists will present a variety of topics advantageous to high school students preparing for collegiate auditions. Each attendee will leave the event with a wealth of information to take back to his or her high school's fine arts program.
“We are excited that high school students and their parents will have a day full of the three ‘E's',” said Ronda DePriest, director of the Music Program and chair of the Department of Fine Arts at Waynesburg University. “We want to help prepare students for creative opportunities in their lives. Our faculty and staff have years of valuable experience to share in making those first steps more cherished and effective.”
According to DePriest, this collaborative event is intended to promote participation, education and skills in all the fine arts. The registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m.
