Yellow Jacket Newspaper

The Yellow Jacket is Waynesburg University’s award-winning weekly student newspaper. Consisting of four sections of Campus, Region, Sports, and Feature news, the Yellow Jacket is dedicated to bringing students, faculty, and staff the latest issues and events that concern the college community.

The Yellow Jacket employs and welcomes contributions from writers, editors, and graphic designers, and the newspaper also features paid advertisements from local businesses, with all ads being sold by students.

As one of the print products of the Department of Communication, the newspaper also attracts students majoring in English, Digital Media, Advertising, or Business Administration, among others.

* First Place: American Scholastic Press Association (Spring 2007)
* American Scholastic Press Association - First Place with Special Merit Award (Spring 2006)  * American Scholastic Press Association - First Place Award (Spring 2005)
* Society of Professional Journalists 2004 Region 4 Mark of Excellence Award, First Place, Best All-Around Non-Daily Student Newspaper (once per week)
