GNP’s annual concert to be held in May
Waynesburg University will host the Gross National Product’s (GNP) 40th Anniversary Concert Saturday, May 1. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center on the campus of Waynesburg University.
The annual show, free and open to the public, is a spring musical reunion for GNP who started putting on shows at Waynesburg University in 1970. The reunion then branched out to include other musical talents in the region.
GNP was formed in the mid-1960s in New Jersey. Original band members, who will play together May 1, include Bill Molzon, director of TV operations at Waynesburg University, Scott Buttfield, Linc Davis, Charlie Behrend and Jeannie Fisher.
“This year’s performances will include a variety of musical styles, ranging from contemporary and classic rock, to bluegrass and country, to jazz,” said Molzon, coordinator of the annual concert. “The GNP reunion show has gained such momentum over the years that we look forward to organizing the event and performing.”
