High school students to participate in Nursing as a Career Day

Waynesburg University will host Nursing as a Career Day for high school students with an interest in the nursing field on Thursday, Oct. 11 in the University’s Stewart Science Hall. The day's events for participants will begin at 9 a.m.

Attending students will spend the day with the Waynesburg University Department of Nursing and learn what it takes to become an influential nurse. In addition to its Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, Waynesburg University also offers a Master of Science degree in nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. The Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, which will be highlighted during Nursing as a Career Day, provides a rigorous curriculum that prepares students to work in a challenging health care environment. The day will include tours, meetings with faculty, financial aid information and lunch.

“Nursing as a Career Day provides a wonderful opportunity for prospective students and their parents to interact with nursing faculty and students across the curriculum,” said Nancy Mosser, chair of the Department of Nursing. “There are a number of advantages to attending the nursing program at Waynesburg University, and Nursing as a Career Day allows us to highlight them.”
