Peer Educators to host “Take Back the Night”
Waynesburg University Peer Education will host “Take Back the Night” Wednesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. The program is intended to raise awareness of both the scope and the consequences of sexual violence. The group will also present changes individuals can make to help prevent its occurrence. The event will be held on the third floor of the Stover Campus Center. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
Kable Dale, Greene County’s sexual violence educator, counselor and advocate, will serve as the event speaker. A sexual violence survivor will also speak on the fear, isolation and pain felt by victims of the crime.
There will be an open forum following the speakers. Participants will be invited to ask questions or share individual stories of survival. The program will end with a candlelight ceremony to honor those who have survived and remember those who have perished as a result of sexual violence.
