Separation Design Group partnership enhances chemical and material separations techniques
Faculty members Robert LaCount and Evonne Baldauff work with Separation Design Group to develop products and processes in separation techniques. SDG and Waynesburg University’s current joint research efforts are focused on the production of a medical oxygen concentrator. The device will aid patients suffering from COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) by producing a reliable, steady flow of oxygen in a highly portable packaging. This research could significantly improve the quality of life for these individuals. Other projects include a thermal power conversion engine, a Dynamic Adsorption Analyzer, and technologies that will enable the more efficient use of energy and energy resources.
