Steps to Apply

  1. Gather the Listed Information
    1. Official transcripts from any secondary or post-secondary schools that you have attended.
      • Transcripts should be in English and converted to a U.S. grading scale using World Education Service (www.wes.org) or AACRAO (www.aacrao.org).
    2. Standardized Test Scores:
      TOEFL score: If your native language is not English, provide scores from the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based Test). You must have a score of at least an 80 (84 for nursing) to be accepted.
      - OR -
      SAT or ACT Scores. You must have a score of at least 980 (SAT) or 20 (ACT) to be accepted. Higher scores will qualify you for academic scholarships.
    3. Copy of valid passport.


  2. Prepare an Essay
    On the application, you will need to write a brief essay on the topic, "In your own words, describe what has prepared you for study in the United States."

  3. Complete the Online Admission Application for International Students.
    If you would like to see a copy of the application before you fill it out online, you may download it here.

  4. Complete a Declaration of Finances form to document that you and your family are capable of funding at least the first full year of your education.

  5. Mail Documents
    The application may be completed online, but we need to have official copies of your documents. Please include your transcripts, test results, and the Declaration of Finances form.

  6. Wait about Three Weeks
    After we receive your documentation, the Admissions Committee will evaluate your application. We will let you know within about three weeks if we can invite you to join us in Waynesburg. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be notified at that time.

  7. Send Deposit
    When you receive your acceptance letter, you will also receive an enrollment package that must be completed if you decide to attend Waynesburg University. You will be required to make a deposit of $150 USD to confirm that you will attend Waynesburg University.

  8. Obtaining a Student Visa
    Once you have made the commitment to attend Waynesburg University, we will then begin the process of obtaining your F-1 or J-1 Visa so you can join us in the U.S. This process can take some time, so it is important that you inform us of your decision to attend Waynesburg University as soon as possible.
