ACCREDITATION Waynesburg University is also accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education,333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17126-0333; (717.783.6788). The mission of the Pennsylvania Department of Education is to assist the General Assembly, the Governor, the Secretary of Education and Pennsylvania educators in providing for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of education. The education department is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17126-0333; (717.783.6788). It is an affiliate of the Teacher Education Accreditation Council which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. All the nursing programs (baccalaureate, master’s, and DNP) at Waynesburg University are approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036-1120; (202.887.6791). The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. The Graduate and Professional Studies programs of Addiction Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP), 1001 North Fairfax St., Suite 510, Alexandria, VA 22314; (703.535.5990). This specialized accrediting agency, recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, grants accredited status to graduate-level programs in the professional counseling field. This recognition provides assurance to the public and higher education institutions that CACREP is a legitimate accreditor with authority granted by a regulating body who has reviewed the standards, processes, and policies of CACREP. The athletic training program is approved by the National Athletic Training Association and the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society.
Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Waynesburg University is proud to be a member of the Council for Christian Colleges Universities (CCCU). The CCCU provides more than 100 programs and services to fulfill the association’s mission and to meet the needs of Christian colleges and universities. Waynesburg University has been a member of CCCU since July 2003. The mission of the CCCU is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help our institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth. |
