Competitive Merit Scholarships
First-time freshmen students who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 are encouraged to apply before Nov. 1 of their senior year. If they do and are accepted, they will be given the Merit & Departmental Scholarship Application. This application gives students the chance to apply for the following awards:

| Dr. Charles Bryner Scholarship | $1000-$3000 | Awarded to a student studying health-related professions; the student also must have at least an 1100 SAT (24 ACT) |
| Governor's Scholarship | $2000 | Awarded to a graduate of the Governor’s School of Excellence who is in the top 20 percent of his/her class |
| Hugh O'Brian Scholarship | $2000 | Awarded to a student who has been a Hugh O’Brian Ambassador; the student also must be in the top 20 percent of his/her class |

| Jeffrey and Regina Taussig Ohio Honors Scholarship | Full tuition, room and board | Awarded to one student from the state of Ohio interested in a math or science related major |
| Pennsylvania Governor's Conference Women Scholarship | $2500 | Awarded to a female student who has demonstrated financial need |
| The Stover Center for Constitutional Studies and Moral Leadership Scholarship | $5,000 plus $500 to participate in conferences and an additional $1,000 to defray the cost of an internship |
| Waynesburg University Alumni Scholarship | $1000 | Awarded to a student who has been active in both school and community activities |
| Waynesburg University Departmental Major Scholarships | $2000 | Awarded to a student who is interested in a particular departmental major |
| Waynesburg University Departmental Minor Scholarships | $1000 | Awarded to a student who is interested in a particular departmental minor |
*All of the above scholarships are annual awards that are renewable for four years at Waynesburg University, as long as the student maintains requirements set forth in the academic catalog.
The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship
Waynesburg University is proud to participate in the Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship Program. All graduates from the Pittsburgh Public Schools and Charters are eligible to receive this scholarship. Eligible candidates can receive up to $10,000 per year for up to four years ($40,000). Visit the Pittsburgh Promise website to apply or find out additional information.
