Hello from Waynesburg!

It was not long ago that I was in the exact same position you are: deciding on a college. For me, I wanted a small school where I could study journalism and play soccer. Waynesburg University certainly fit both of those criteria, yet so did many other institutions. So what was it that won me over in the end? Along with an excellent Department of Communication, it was the type of genuine, caring people I thought I’d find at Waynesburg.

And, man, was I right on that one!

Many of the individuals I met at Waynesburg did nothing short of change my life. I forged lasting relationships with those folks over four years that I never thought possible. And not only that, but they helped to shape what has thankfully become the most important part of my life: my faith. A Christian school was not on my initial college checklist, but after my experience at Waynesburg, I realize that it certainly should have been. For those four years were critical for me in discovering what it meant to truly have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

With all that being said, it would be my pleasure to further educate you on Waynesburg University and help you decide which college is the right fit for you. Who knows, like myself, your college checklist may have holes you didn’t even realize! God bless!

About Me
When I first came to Waynesburg in August of 2008, my main goal was to gain as much experience as possible within the field of Communication. I wanted to work in sports, particularly as a sports writer, and I knew I needed to work hard in college if I had any hopes of attaining that career aspiration. Well, after four years at Waynesburg, mission accomplished. I worked for ESPN & Fox Sports, interned at Pittsburgh Magazine, announced countless games, was the Sports Editor of the student newspaper, and the list could go on. In the process of all that, though, I discovered my affinity for Waynesburg University. So when the opportunity arose to help guide students to the place that’s meant so much to me, I just couldn’t pass it up.

Along with my duties at Waynesburg, other current endeavors of mine include news and sports announcing on a local radio station. This allows me to still pursue that passion I have for the field of Communication. And to make sure I have plenty to do in the upcoming few years, I plan to pursue an MBA through Waynesburg, as well.

When I do have some down time, I enjoy playing or watching just about any type of sport and trying my best to stay in shape (although I often attempt to counteract that with my love of good food). I also like just about anything that has to do with the outdoors, especially hunting and camping. And as is the case with so many, the company of friends and family, particularly my fiancée Jess, is often what I seek in idle times.
