WCTV

Waynesburg Community Television is a public, government, and education channel that broadcasts to the community of Greene County on Comcast channel 14. It is owned by the Borough of Waynesburg and operated by the students of the Department of Communication at Waynesburg University. As part of the TV operation, students can gain hands-on knowledge through working with WCTV productions.

These productions include those that are created and directed by Waynesburg students such as The Greene Room, Jacket Sports Weekly, Channel 14 News, and Math TV. The students also create and air documentary films, non-profit promotions, and guest lecture interviews.

With the knowledge and skills gained from working with WCTV, students have worked at rewarding internships in and outside the state of Pennsylvania. Some internships have included: KDKA TV News (Pittsburgh, Pa.), FOX News (New York, N.Y.), Little Voice Productions (Denver, Colo.), Washington Wild Things (Washington, Pa.), WPXI (Pittsburgh, Pa.), WTAE (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and WQED (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
