STUDENT ACTIVITIES BOARD

Waynesburg University values the importance of co-curricular activities both for personal development and inter-personal skill development.  Participation in student activities and organizations is essential to receiving the full education that Waynesburg University has to offer.  Available activities represent the diversified interests and educational opportunities provided for students.  New ideas for activities are always welcome and may be added in conversation with the Director of Student Activities.

Student Activities Board

This board of students meets weekly to plan, organize and implement many of the activities that occur on campus.  With the advisement of the Associate Dean, the Board consists of a variety of committees and develops a many different types of programming both on campus and through participation in regional resources.  Suggestions for additional programming or participation in the Board or its committes is always welcome.

Special Events

A number of institutional events are planned for students and in cooperation with student leaders.  These include annual events such as New Student Orientation, Homecoming, Family Day, “Light Up” Night, Sibs and Kids, Charter Day, Spring Week and the Mini-Relay for Life.  Additional events may be considered and planned based upon suggestions of students.

Lectures and Perfomances

Annual lectures on the University campus include the Crosby Lecture series, the DeVito Lecture series, the Christ and Culture lecturers and the b.f. Maiz poetry reading.  Other lectures and presentations are also organized within departments, but made available to the entire campus. 

Fine arts performances occur each semester through the talents of our own students involved in music, theater and the arts.  Additional performers are scheduled each year to enhance the educational, aesthetic and social experiences of our students.
