In her role as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and University Relations, Szuminsky guides the public relations, marketing, alumni relations and development teams to advance and promote the mission of Waynesburg University. Prior to this role, Szuminsky served the University as the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, focusing primarily on raising philanthropic support; the Director of Donor and Alumni Relations, focusing on fundraising, alumni outreach, and engagement; and the Assistant Director of University Relations, focusing on media relations, public relations, and marketing.

Szuminsky earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Leadership and Human Resources. Szuminsky is also a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh’s Leadership Development Initiative, earning a certificate in Leadership Development.

Active in the community, Szuminsky serves on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Waynesburg, the Board of Directors for the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, a delegate of the Regional Investors Council with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the Host Committee for the Greater Pittsburgh Area Athena Awards, a mentor with the Women’s Empowerment Project at Christ Community Church of the South Hills, and as a member of the resource development committee for Leadership Pittsburgh.

Szuminsky is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council, and the Public Relations Society of America. She is an active member and serves on the Leadership Team of Christ Community Church of the South Hills in Upper St. Clair, PA.
