The Alumni Office is excited to welcome you and your fellow alumni back to campus this October! Can't make it back to Waynesburg this year? We'll have two days of virtual programming, too!
Those virtual events will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 29-30. In-person Homecoming festivities will kick off on Friday, Oct. 1, and conclude Saturday, Oct. 2, after the 5th Quarter Steak Cookout.

Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 – Virtual Events Only
Noon | Virtual Kickoff Event
Join Alumni Office staff and President Doug Lee for a brief University update as we kick off Homecoming 2021! During this event, we will also share how to access our newest virtual tour of campus.
8 p.m. | Virtual WU Athletics Huddle with Coaches Perry Cunningham and Brett Shimek
Join us for a virtual sit-down with new WU baseball head coach Perry Cunningham and head softball coach Brett Shimek!

Join chemistry chairperson Evonne Bauldaff, Pathways Center director Brian Carr, and VP for Enrollment Shari Payne for a conversation about what's new at WU and what's to come.

Afternoon | Alumni Golf
Join your friends, teammates and classmates for an afternoon on the links at the beautiful Greene County Country Club. Call 724-852-2965 to make your reservation for an afternoon tee time. Cost is $35 for 18 holes and cart rental (payable at course).
4:30 p.m. | Women’s Tennis Match
Your Yellow Jackets battle Saint Vincent on their home court, located at 4260 West Roy Furman Highway.
6-9 p.m. | All-Alumni Celebration and Combined Class Reunion
Join us at The Denny House, located at 145 West High Street in Waynesburg, for an evening of fellowship with President and Mrs. Lee, Alumni Office staff, and fellow Waynesburg alumni. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided, and a cash bar will be available at this open house-style event. At approximately 8 p.m., all reunion classes (grad years which end in a 0, 1, 5, or 6) will be recognized, and President Lee will deliver remarks, including the latest University update. Tours of the historic Victorian house, once owned by the family of Josephine Denny (1915), a past recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, will also be available throughout the evening. Reservations are required!
Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 – In-Person Events Only
8:30 a.m. | 25th Annual 5K Run/Walk
Join us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Homecoming 5K! Check-in will take place inside the Goodwin Performing Arts Center (behind Miller Hall) beginning at 7:30 a.m. on race day. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the top of Washington Street, next to Roberts Chapel. All proceeds will benefit the Waynesburg University Student Mission Trip Fund. Click here to register online. Please note: Online registration is only available until noon on Friday, Oct. 1, after which time you will need to register in person on the morning of the event.
10-11:30 a.m. | Stover Scholars Alumni Brunch
All alumni of the Stover Scholars Program are invited to join fellow alumni for brunch, hosted by Dr. Larry Stratton, in the Stover Conference Room, Eberly Library room 218. Reservations are requested. RSVP via email to Chris Schwartzmiller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
10 a.m. - noon | Open House & Alumni Check-in at The Nest
Join us for a brand new event at 84 Wayne Street at The Nest, WU's new campus store! Check in at the Alumni tent located in front of The Nest to pick up your complimentary Homecoming football game tickets, get a discount card for select local restaurants (valid 10/2/21 only), and enjoy music and yard games with fellow alumni. If you are celebrating a reunion year, you may pick up your special reunion ribbon at check-in. The first 50 alumni who check in will receive a black mesh WU tote bag! Complimentary refreshments and walking campus/specialty tours will be available.
10:30-11:45 a.m. | Classes of 1970 and 1971 Brunch with President and Mrs. Lee at the President's House
Members of the Classes of 1970 and 1971 are invited to celebrate their 50th reunion with President and Mrs. Lee at the President's House, located at 101 West College Street. Reservations are required!
11 a.m. & 3 p.m. | Volleyball Matches
Your Yellow Jackets take on both Thiel and Saint Vincent at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse!
1 p.m. | Homecoming Football Game
Your Yellow Jackets take on Grove City at John F. Wiley Stadium! Alumni who do not check-in at the Open House & Alumni Check-in at the Nest can do so at one of the Alumni tents located at the front and back gates of the stadium from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additionally, the Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
Halftime of the Homecoming Football Game | Halftime Alumni Celebration
All alumni are invited to join us under the Alumni tent, located at the back gate of the stadium, for complimentary Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches at halftime of the Homecoming football game. Bring your family along to meet some of your former classmates! If you purchased tickets for the 5th Quarter Steak Cookout, you can pick them up here.
Immediately Following the Homecoming Football Game | 5th Quarter Steak Cookout
Official Homecoming 2021 activities will conclude with the 5th Quarter Steak Cookout under the Alumni tent at the back gate of John F. Wiley Stadium. The cookout provides another opportunity to reconnect with classmates and friends. Tickets are $15 each for those 13 and older. Children 12 and under eat free. Purchase your tickets in advance and pick them up at the Halftime Alumni Celebration at the back gate of the stadium. Reservations for the 5th Quarter Steak Cookout are required, so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance!
6 & 8 p.m. | Women’s & Men’s Soccer Games
Your Yellow Jacket soccer teams cap off the weekend by taking on Grove City at Wiley Stadium!
