During the final 2012-13 meeting of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Council Tuesday, April 2, Waynesburg University junior football player and golfer Thomas Paulone was elected as the organization's vice president. After leading his team to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in program history, Waynesburg University women's basketball coach Sam Jones was honored as the 2011-12 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Coach of the Year in late February at the PAC Championship Tournament.

Jones has been the architect of a continual reclamation project with the Jacket women. After inheriting a program that won just one game in 2007-08, he has led the program through a gradual rise up the conference standings. His four-year tenure has been highlighted by back-to-back third place conference finishes in 2011 and 2012, with his teams finishing only behind perennial NCAA tournament teams, Thomas More and Saint Vincent. The Jackets captured their first postseason trophy under Jones to conclude the 2010-11 season when they beat Catholic University 67-63 at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The program took things one step further this past season when they swept nationally-recognized conference rival Saint Vincent in a pair of PAC contests.

Several Yellow Jacket players were also honored by the conference for their outstanding play on the court. Senior point guard Hannah Hunter was named first-team All-PAC, while junior guards Jessi Drayer and Brittany Spencer were lauded as second-team and honorable-mention picks, respectively.

As has become the norm in recent years, Waynesburg University had the most noticeable presence on an edition of the Presidents' Athletic Conference's (PAC) Academic Honor Roll, which is released every semester. In all, 70 Yellow Jackets were featured among the 427 honorees on the PAC Fall 2012 Academic Honor Roll.

The Jacket football team led the way for the Orange and Black with 19 names on the list, adding some impressive academic accolades to its historic 10-1 season. Waynesburg's men's and women's soccer teams added 11 honorees each to the conference-leading tally. Women's tennis had a fine year academically, as eight of the 13 members of the team were lauded on the list. Men's cross country sported similar numbers, with eight of 14 roster members securing the conference honor. Women's cross country and volleyball rounded out this semester's list with seven and six honorees, respectively.

The PAC Academic Honor Roll honors student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during their semester of competition. The Fall 2012 total represents a 13.8 percent increase from the Fall 2011 PAC Academic Honor Roll, which featured 375 honorees.
