Fine Arts to host student art galleries

Rachel Pellegrino Mar 15, 2021

The Department of Fine Arts will host two Student Art Exhibits this spring semester: Macy Cain’s Senior Art Show March 15, through April 2, and a Student Art Show April 12, through April 23.

“The goal of the Waynesburg University Fine Arts Benedum Art Gallery is to educate the Waynesburg community about the various art that is available to see and exhibit the amazing art Waynesburg University students create here in our program,” said Andrew Heisey, chairperson for the Department of Fine Arts and associate professor of art.

The Benedum Art Gallery will be open for viewing to Waynesburg students, faculty and staff on weekdays from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All protocols associated with the Keep Waynesburg Well plan will be strictly enforced. To view the plan, visit waynesburg.edu/keepwaynesburgwell.

“Each exhibition is a unique experience,” added Heisey.

Both shows will include a variety of 2D and 3D artwork.

Macy Cain’s Senior Art Show will feature a culmination of her best work from the past four years at Waynesburg, and the Student Art Show will feature a collection of artwork made by students enrolled in the Department of Fine Arts’ studio courses offered this spring semester.

Cain is a senior arts administration/visual communication major from Oakdale, Pennsylvania.

For those unable to attend in-person, a video exhibition will be available on the Department of Fine Arts’ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/FineArtsWaynesburg.
