Attendance

A student is expected to attend all scheduled class and laboratory periods for which he or she is enrolled. Individual course syllabi may state additional attendance requirements. If it is necessary for a student to be absent from classes, the student should advise the instructor before the absence. In all cases, it is the student’s responsibility to make up work missed. Extended absences due to illness or other compelling reasons should be reported by the student to the Office of Student Services, which will inform faculty of the student’s absence. Irregular class attendance may be reported, and the student may be asked to seek counseling or guidance in order to facilitate his or her adjustment to college life. If a student has stopped attending classes without approval from Academic Affairs, the student may be required to leave the residence hall and/or withdraw from the University.
