Special Assistant to the President for Community Relations
In his role as Director of Athletics for our student-athletes, Larry Marshall provides vision and leadership to guide the athletic program in a manner commensurate with the mission, values, and strategic plan of the University. He is committed to an environment that encourages and supports diversity, fairness, and equity.
Previously, Marshall was an Honors Physics teacher at Trinity High School in Washington, Pennsylvania for 39 years. He was an assistant basketball coach under Rudy Marisa for 24 years at Waynesburg University. Marshall worked at the Tri-State Basketball Camp at Waynesburg University for 34 years during the month of July.
Mr. Marshall is very involved in service to the community. He has been the manager of the Greene County Fair since 1980, served as Fire Chief for 25 years for the Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, where he has been a member for more than 50 years. He serves as a Pennsylvania State Fire Suppression Instructor Emeritus through the Pa. State Fire Academy in Lewistown, teaching classes in Western Pennsylvania. Marshall has served since 1996 as a member of the Pa. Fire Safety Advisory Committee meeting quarterly with the Pa. State Fire Commissioner to advise on fire safety and training issues in the state.
He also serves as Main Street Manager and CEO of Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful, a main street program through the Pa. Downtown Center in Harrisburg. He currently serves as a member of the Waynesburg Borough Council and is the President of council.
He and his wife, Elizabeth ’82, have three daughters, JoAnne, Jennifer, and Julie.
