Muse & Stone
Muse & Stone is a literary journal published annually by Waynesburg University each spring.
The journal is dedicated to the memory of b.f. maiz, a prominent spoken word poet and friend of the University.
The journal has an unusual format: Half of each issue is drawn from unsolicited submissions; the other half is devoted to work by Waynesburg University students. The selection processes are separate, and each is blind-judged and competitive.
Muse & Stones accepts unsolicited submissions of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction from August 1 to April 1. Writers may submit up to five poems, fiction up to 6,000 words, and creative nonfiction up to 6,000 words. Student submissions are accepted from August 1 until early in the spring semester.
A more specific deadline can be found on posters around campus. Current and back issues of Muse & Stone can be purchased for $6 per issue. Copies of the magazine are free to students and visitors and can be found around campus.
