On Saturday, all alumni who check in at the orange Alumni tent at our Homecoming Open House at The Nest, WU’s campus store, will receive a small gift from the Alumni Office!

Thursday, October 6, 2022 – Virtual Events Only
- 6:30 p.m. | Homecoming @ Home Virtual Kickoff Event
Join Alumni Office staff, Department of Athletics staff, and President Doug Lee for a brief University update as we kick off Homecoming 2022!
- 8 p.m. | Virtual Trivia Night
Compete with fellow WU grads in a virtual game of trivia via Crowdpurr!
Friday, October 7, 2022 – In-Person Events Only
- Afternoon | Alumni Golf at Greene County Country Club
Join your friends, teammates and classmates for an afternoon on the links at the beautiful Greene County Country Club. Call Don Chappel (’72) at 724-852-2965 to make your reservation for an afternoon tee time. Cost is $37 for 18 holes and cart rental (payable at course).
- 6 - 9 p.m. | All-Alumni Celebration and Combined Class Reunion at The Denny House in Waynesburg
Join us at The Denny House, located at 145 West High Street in Waynesburg, for an evening of fellowship with President and Mrs. Lee, Alumni Office staff, and fellow Waynesburg alumni. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided, and a cash bar will be available at this open house-style event. At approximately 8 p.m., all reunion classes (grad years which end in a 2 or a 7) will be recognized, and President Lee will deliver remarks, including the latest University update. Tours of the historic Victorian house, once owned by the family of Josephine Denny (1915), a past recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, will also be available throughout the evening. Reservations are required!
Saturday, October 8, 2022 – In-Person Events Only
- 8:30 a.m. | 26th Annual 5K Run/Walk
Check-in will take place inside the Goodwin Performing Arts Center (behind Miller Hall) beginning at 7:30 a.m. on race day. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the top of Washington Street, next to Roberts Chapel. All proceeds will benefit the Waynesburg University Student Mission Trip Fund. Click here to register online. Please note: Online registration is only available until noon on Friday, Oct. 7, after which time you will need to register in person on the morning of the event.
- 10 a.m. - noon | Open House & Alumni Check-in at The Nest
Join us for an Open House at The Nest, WU's campus store located at 84 Wayne St.! Check in at the Alumni tent located in front of The Nest to pick up your complimentary Homecoming football game tickets, receive your free gift, and enjoy complimentary refreshments and yard games with fellow alumni and their families. If you are celebrating a reunion year, you may pick up your special reunion ribbon at check-in. (Please note: The Class of 1972 is not required to check in at The Nest, as they may do so at their 50th Reunion Brunch at the President's House at 11 a.m.)
- 10 - 11:30 a.m. | Stover Scholars Alumni Brunch in Eberly Library
All alumni of the Stover Scholars Program are invited to join fellow alumni for a complimentary brunch, hosted by Dr. Larry Stratton, in the Stover Conference Room, Eberly Library room 218. Reservations are requested. RSVP via email to Chris Schwartzmiller at cschwart@waynesburg.edu.
- 10 a.m. – noon | Department of Biology, Environmental Science, and Health Science Alumni Reunion in Stewart 406
All alumni of the Department of Biology, Environmental Science, and Health Science are invited to join fellow alumni for a reunion, hosted by Dr. Chris Cink, in Stewart Hall room 406. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
- 10 a.m. – noon | Cross Country and Track & Field Alumni Reunion in Benedum Dining Hall Glass Room
All Cross Country and Track & Field alumni are invited to join current team members and fellow alumni for a complimentary brunch, hosted by Chris Hardie, in the Benedum Dining Hall Glass Room. All alumni who register for this reunion will also receive a free t-shirt!
- 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Bonner Scholars Reunion in Benedum Dining Hall overhang (outside Fine Arts Center entrance)
All alumni of the Bonner Scholars program are invited to join Adrienne Tharp and Avery White (’19, MBA ’21) at the outdoor Benedum Dining Hall overhang for complimentary refreshments. The first 20 Bonner alumni who registered for this reunion will receive a free t-shirt commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Bonner program!
- 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | Class of 1972 Brunch with President and Mrs. Lee at the President's House
Members of the Class of 1972 and their guests are invited to celebrate their 50th reunion with President and Mrs. Lee at the President’s House, located at 101 West College Street, directly west of Miller Hall. Reservations are required! Please note: Brunch registrants will be able to pick up their nametag, football tickets, and free gift at the brunch and will not need to check in at The Nest first. They may go directly to the President’s House for brunch once they arrive on campus that morning.
- 1 p.m. | Homecoming Football Game vs. Carnegie Mellon University at Wiley Stadium
Your Yellow Jackets take on the Tartans at John F. Wiley Stadium! Alumni who do not check-in at the Open House & Alumni Check-in at the Nest can do so at one of the Alumni tents located at the front and back gates of the stadium from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additionally, the Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
- Halftime of the Homecoming Football Game | Halftime Alumni Celebration at Alumni Tent (stadium back gate)
All alumni are invited to join us under the Alumni tent, located at the back gate of the stadium, for complimentary Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches at halftime of the Homecoming football game. Bring your family along to meet some of your former classmates!
- Immediately following the Homecoming Football Game | 5th Quarter Alumni Gathering at Alumni Tent (stadium back gate)
New this year! Alumni and their guests are welcome to stay at the Alumni tent after the conclusion of the football game to mingle with former classmates and friends, current Yellow Jacket coaches, and President and Mrs. Lee. Complimentary refreshments will be provided, and yard games for the whole family will be available near the Alumni tent. Tickets will not be required for this event, but reservations are suggested.
- 6 p.m. (Men’s) and 8 p.m. (Women’s) | Soccer vs. Allegheny College at Wiley Stadium
Your Yellow Jacket soccer teams cap off the weekend by hosting the Gators at Wiley Stadium!
Lodging and Getting to Campus
The Hampton Inn, located at 227 Greene Plaza in Waynesburg, is offering a discounted rate for alumni during the weekend of Oct. 7-8. To take advantage of this discount, click HERE to book now, or call the Hampton Inn at 724-802-1010 and request a room under the Waynesburg University Homecoming block rate. Rooms under this discounted rate are limited, so be sure to call as soon as possible to book!

Professional Clothing Donation Drive
During Homecoming Saturday, the University's Pathways Center will host a donation drive for professional clothing and shoes for their Career Closet, which provides professional attire for WU students. Collection boxes for these items will be available at the orange Alumni tents located at the front and back gates of Wiley Stadium before and during the Homecoming football game.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Career Closet or to the Pathways Center, you can visit our giving page (be sure to designate "WU Career Development" on the form when prompted) or mail a check addressed to the Office of Institutional Advancement at Waynesburg University, 51 W. College St., Waynesburg, PA 15370. Checks should be made payable to Waynesburg University, with "WU Career Development" in the memo line.
Shuttle Information
On Friday, Oct. 7, a complimentary shuttle will run between the Denny House and the following Waynesburg hotels: Hampton Inn, Microtel, Quality Inn, Super 8, and Economy Inn. Just added: On Friday night, the shuttle will run twice each way!
For the first run, the shuttle will depart Miller Hall parking lot at 5:30 p.m., stop at each of the hotels listed, then drop off passengers at the Denny House. Immediately following the first drop-off, the shuttle will make a second trip to each hotel listed above and complete the drop-off of passengers at the Denny House.
The shuttle will begin loading at 8:45 p.m. at the Denny House for the first return run, then drop off passengers at each hotel. The shuttle will begin loading at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the Denny House, drop passengers off at each hotel, then return to the Miller Hall parking lot to conclude the final run.
On Saturday, Oct. 8, the shuttle will run between campus (shuttle stop at the corner of Washington St. and College St., in front of Hanna Hall) and the front and back gates of Wiley Stadium from noon until the conclusion of the 5th Quarter Alumni Gathering. Parking at the field will be very limited, so the Alumni Office encourages use of the shuttle on Saturday.
Campus Tours
Campus tours will be offered on Friday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., then again on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Please meet in Cusick Court (between Miller Hall and Hanna Hall) ten minutes before the start of the tour if interested.
