Environmental Science Faculty

Computer Science/Information Science Faculty Position

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate will have an M.S. in Computer Science (Ph.D. is preferred) or an ABD equivalent in computer science. Student-Athlete Success Coordinator Internship
Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for the position of Student-Athlete Success Coordinator. This is a paid internship through the NCAA’s Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant Program funded for two years (2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years). Graduate Assistant - ITS Client Services
General Statement of Duties: Provide technical support and training to administration, faculty and students of Waynesburg University. Setup, service, and maintain computers, peripherals, and multimedia. Provide support and instruction for software. Provide administrative and operational support for the Help Desk. Assist with hiring, supervision, and training of Student Support Specialists.
Supervision received: Reports to Director of Client Services
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Six months experience preferred in any of the following areas: PC Repair and Technical Support, Help Desk, Customer Service
License or Certification: None
Example of Duties*:
- Provide hardware, software, and audio/video support at main campus and the remote facilities as needed.
- Assist with routine/preventative maintenance on all computer and multimedia equipment and travel to locations as needed to address any unplanned issues.
- Act as a liaison between end users and the appropriate ITS Department staff members to resolve service requests, aiding in the assignment of student worker tasks, and providing basic training of University technologies including policy and procedures.
- Serves as a role model of exemplary customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests of the University by professionally and accurately diagnosing, recording, classifying, and closing requests.
- Serves as a responsible and professional staff member by participating in ITS staff meetings and other functions as needed, ensuring documentation is created in line with current standards and is properly maintained.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities for Appointment:
- Ability to exercise human relations skills in effectively working with technical and non-technical personnel within the University community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows Office Suites, PC architecture, and general knowledge of Network Infrastructure and Wireless Technologies.
- Maintaining knowledge of new developments in both hardware and software.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Professional and ethical conduct.
- Access to transportation.
- Access to a personal computer with Internet access during off-hours.
Physical Requirements: Requires occasional lifting and transporting of computing equipment, bending, stooping, crawling, and reaching. Ability to travel between all University facilities on an occasional basis.
