At 7AM on Sunday, September 15th, Waynesburg Athletic Training faculty, along with junior and senior students traveled to Morgantown to serve at the finish line, helping with triage and First Aid at the medical tent and handing out water to the finishers. In this 4th annual Marathon event, there were over 1,000 runners who completed the race. It was a wonderful experience for our students to serve the local community, while also gaining real-life experience in their future vocations.
The opportunity was funded by a NetVue service grant which helped pay for travel and food for our students. The participating students were thankful for being a part of a wonderful local event that promotes healthy lifestyles and supports veterans through Operation Welcome Home. The students and faculty look forward to future opportunities to continue to provide experiences and opportunities for our students to live lives of leadership and purpose for the glory of God.
