Lamplighters Touring Choir to present fall concert

Tim Durkin Nov 3, 2023

Waynesburg University’s Lamplighters Touring Choir will hold a concert in Roberts Chapel Thursday, Nov. 9, starting at 5 p.m. The event is free for all who wish to attend.

The Touring Choir is made up of 23 students who practice twice a week, then bring their song services to local churches and senior homes.

“Our concert title is ‘Singing the Psalms’ and will be loosely structured as a traditional Vespers service with Psalms and Prayers,” Melanie Catana, director of choral music, said.

The song selections will include the following: “Wait on the Lord,” “The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation,” “A Joyful Noise,” “Alleluia,” “I'm Building Me a Home” and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”

Catana expects the concert to be an hour in length.
