Waynesburg University’s Biblical & Ministry Studies Program hosted its 4th annual Ministry Leaders Appreciation Dinner Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Glass Dining Room on campus. A total of 38 ministry leaders from 15 area churches and 20 University students were in attendance.
It is a joy to have unity in Christ as we live into the mission God has for us, on and off-campus. I want to extend a special thank you for all of those that attended the event and made it a truly special evening of fellowship."
The event, which celebrates pastors and ministry staff from local churches, provides Biblical & Ministry Studies students and ministry leaders the opportunity to engage in fellowship around the table.
"This was an incredible opportunity for our students that are exploring or have a call to ministry to network with and to learn from local pastors, youth pastors and ministry staff in the region,” said University Chaplain Joshua Sumpter. “This event is also a great opportunity for us to recognize the amazing ministry taking place in this region and to give thanks for the work that God is doing in and through these ministry leaders."
During the event, Waynesburg University President Douglas G. Lee provided a blessing for the meal and shared the ways in which students are committed to Jesus Christ at Waynesburg University.
The keynote address was given by Pastor Kent Chevalier, team chaplain for the Pittsburgh Steelers with Athletes in Action.
"I am grateful for the Christ-centered conversations that took place around the tables during the event,” added Sumpter. “It is a joy to have unity in Christ as we live into the mission God has for us, on and off-campus. I want to extend a special thank you for all of those that attended the event and made it a truly special evening of fellowship."
