Waynesburg University’s Music Program will host a Chamber Works concert in Roberts Chapel Thursday, Feb. 24 at noon.
The concert will feature small ensembles that include instruments such as woodwinds, percussion and strings.
According to Dr. Ronda DePriest, director of the Music Program, smaller ensembles make students more confident in their abilities.
“Smaller ensembles require that each member of the ensemble is ‘on their game,’ because chamber music is written with one player on a part. The technique our students gain by being members of a small ensemble, or a solo artist, aids them in growing a heightened confidence in their individual performance abilities by taking on a variety of roles as a player in a small ensemble,” she said.
Audience members are asked to wear a mask as part of Waynesburg University’s Keep Waynesburg Well Plan.
