Waynesburg University hosted the first of three “Seeds for Success” events Friday, June 21. The event is part of a summer orientation program to assist students and parents with their Waynesburg experience and is an official welcome to the Class of 2023.
“This program prepares students for the transition to college life and provides information about resources available to support students and parents both academically and socially,” said Ryan Smith, assistant director of student activities.
Waynesburg University President Douglas G. Lee and Dr. Shari Payne, vice president for enrollment, welcomed all families.
Throughout the day, students and parents had the opportunity to interact with faculty and staff members, administrators, current students and alumni on a wide range of topics, including academics, social opportunities, wellness and vocation.
Two tracks ran concurrently – one for students and the other for parents. Presentations featured representatives from the offices of Academic Affairs, Student Services, Admissions, and Financial Aid, as well as the Business Office, the Counseling Center and the Career Services Office.
Students also had their student ID photo taken, visited their dorm room and residence and explored the campus along with their families.
The second and third dates will be Friday, July 19, and Friday, July 26.
