Symphonic Band will host Fall Music Concert

The concert will feature songs under the theme of patriotism

Rachel Pellegrino Sep 25, 2019

Waynesburg University’s Music Program will host a Fall Music Concert Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 5:15 p.m. in the Marsh Center. The concert will feature the Program’s Symphonic Band.

The University faculty, staff and student community, as well as anyone in the Waynesburg community, are welcome to attend. Admission for the event is free.

This is a wonderful way to end your work day. Plan to spend an hour at the end of your day with musicians who love sharing what they have rehearsed … music written by inspired composers and presented by an inspired ensemble,” said Dr. Ronda DePriest, director of the Music Program.

The Symphonic Band will play a number of songs fitting into the theme of patriotism. Among other selections, the band will feature the John Williams arrangement of The Star-Spangled Banner and the Eric Ewazen piece A Hymn for the Lost and The Living (a 9/11 tribute piece).

For more information, contact DePriest at 724-852-3420, or rdepriest@waynesburg.edu.
