Andrew Heisey
Professor of Art and Chief Maker
Biography
Professor Heisey is an Art Professor in the Fine Arts Department and the Chief Maker in the Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Waynesburg University. In the Stover Center eHIVE makerspace or the campus woodshop, he can often be found tinkering with 3D printers, laser engravers, and other tools to bring ideas to life—or helping students do the same.
He also manages the University’s beekeeping program at Alston Farm, where over 100,000 honeybees keep him busy. From this work, he has launched “Professor Heisey’s Beeswax” products, beginning with lip balm and beard balm, and hopes future students will discover their own innovative ways to use the gifts honeybees provide to create their own micro business ventures.
Outside the classroom, Professor Heisey is a member of the James D. Randolph Kiltie Band. If you hear bagpipes drifting across campus you know Professor Heisey is not too far away.
