Douglas G. and Kathryn D. Lee Servant Leadership Endowed Award

The Douglas G. and Kathryn D. Lee Servant Leadership Endowed Award is presented annually.

Each year at the University’s Commencement Ceremony the Douglas G. and Kathryn D. Lee Servant Leadership Endowed Award is presented to one graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities over the course of their time at Waynesburg University in the mission focus areas of faith, learning and serving.

This award is intended to recognize an individual with an exceptional ability of providing leadership to make a positive impact on others within the Waynesburg University community, in their home community, or anywhere in the world.

The award recipient receives a monetary award of at least $1,000.

The Waynesburg University Board of Trustees established the Douglas G. and Kathryn D. Lee Servant Leadership Endowed Award in 2020 to recognize the Lees’ outstanding leadership of Waynesburg University during the challenges faced throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

CRITERIA

  1. Each nominee must be a graduating senior in the student body of Waynesburg University. 
  2. Each nomination must share how and when the nominee has demonstrated the following qualities:
    • Trust
    • Service to others
    • Leadership
    • Faith
    • Positive impact on others
    • Vision and Implementation
    • Ethics

NOMINATION PROCESS

  • Nominations will be accepted from February 15 through March 15.
  • Anyone may nominate a graduating senior. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
  • The deadline for nominations is March 15. 
  • Each nomination must include a narrative paragraph providing examples that demonstrate the student's servant leadership qualities and outcomes.
