Performing Arts Series

featuring Mark Houghton, French Horn, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Rodrigo Ojeda, Piano, Carnegie Mellon University

The Performing Arts Series presents world-class concerts featuring solo artists and chamber ensembles. These concerts are free to the public.

The first concert this year will be a French horn recital performed by Mark Houghton of the Pittsburgh Symphony. His collaborator on piano will be Rodrigo Ojeda. Mr. Ojeda is the assistant teaching professor of coaching and accompanying at Carnegie Mellon University. This concert will consist of standard works for French horn and piano and will be held in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center (GPAC) on campus.

Prior to the recital, Mr. Houghton will give a Masterclass on brass playing in the Marsh Center, located below Roberts Chapel, from 5 to 6 p.m. University music students studying brass instruments will perform and receive instruction from Mr. Houghton in this class. Anyone interested in music is invited to attend and observe this Masterclass.
