Waynesburg University will host an art show for senior art major Allyson Barker from Monday, Oct. 28, to Wednesday, Nov. 20. The opening of the show will take place on Monday, Oct. 28, in the Benedum Art Gallery from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission for the event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
The art show will feature a collection of Barker’s artwork she has made throughout her time at Waynesburg, as well as specific pieces she made for the show.
“My exhibition is a compilation of my work over the last four years,” said Barker. “Most of my artwork are drawings and paintings though there will be a smattering of various mediums and 3-D works.”
This show will serve as Barker’s capstone project for her major, which all senior art majors are required to do to graduate.
“Every art major holds a senior exhibition as their capstone. It is the time for an art major to showcase their best works made in the last four years, and reflect on their personal growth and accomplishments. It is also a time for the artist to share this milestone with family, friends and the community,” Barker explained.
Senior art majors Mason Klopp and Lydia Polarine will host their senior art shows in the spring.
