Waynesburg University has selected Anastasia Curitti as a 2025 recipient of the esteemed Founders Scholarship. She is the daughter of Matthew and Carmela Curitti.

“The most important thing to me is my relationship with God, and I would not be where I am today without the people I have been blessed with,” Curitti said. “They have supported me through every trial, accomplishment, victory and loss, and I am beyond grateful for their love and faith in me.”
Curitti is from Nevada, where she fell in love with wrestling. She is her school’s first female wrestler, first female state-qualifier and first 113-pound regional champion while competing in the boys’ division. Her athletic accomplishments don’t stop there, as she is a two-time 113-pound state runner-up and her school’s first collegiate wrestler.
“I fell in love with the sport despite my late introduction to it… and I never would have expected the doors to open to me because of it,” she explained. “Not only did I grow as an athlete and woman, but as a child of God. I know my accomplishments would not be possible without His hand over me.”
In the fall, Curitti will attend Waynesburg University to continue her academic career while competing on the women’s wrestling team.
“I know God is holding this door open for me, and I am excited and grateful for the upcoming adventure,” Curitti said.
