First-Year Freshman Scholarships

Scholarships are an essential aspect of funding your higher education. Here are opportunities designed just for you.

Achievement Awards

We review your high school GPA and SAT/ACT test scores to determine your high school academic achievement, and, based on that, we’ll award you one of the following scholarships. The scholarship you earn for your first year is renewable and awarded for eight consecutive semesters of undergraduate enrollment or until a bachelor's degree is achieved (whichever comes first) on Waynesburg University’s main campus. Students must also achieve the required GPA for renewal.

Out-of-state students who receive an Achievement Award also qualify for our State Scholarship, worth an additional $3,000/year.

Who can apply: All accepted first-year freshman students will be considered for an Achievement Award based on their application for admission. Scholarships below are effective for new first-year freshman students beginning fall 2020.

To learn more about the exact GPA and standardized test scores that are needed for each award, contact the Office of Admissions at 800-225-7393, admissions@waynesburg.edu or visit the Net Price Calculator.

Achievement Award Annual Amount
A.B. Miller Scholarship $16,000
Presidential Honor Scholarship $14,000
Waynesburg Honor Scholarship $11,000
University Scholarship $9,000
Waynesburg Opportunity Award $6,000

Competitive Scholarship Programs

As a first-year student, you can also apply for competitive scholarships, each of which has its own set of requirements and application. See below for more information on these scholarships, if you qualify, and how you can apply.
