English Department hosts monthly readings

Rachel Pellegrino Mar 17, 2022

Waynesburg University’s Department of English is currently hosting a monthly reading series titled, “Third Thursday Readings,” with a reading on the third Thursday of every month.

Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the series in McCance Auditorium in Buhl Hall at 4 p.m. The next reading will be Thursday, March 17.

The “Third Thursday Readings” began last semester to encourage the Waynesburg community to share their writing with one another in an informal setting.

“The idea is to build an informal community centered in creative writing, not only writers but also listeners,” said Dr. Bob Randolph, professor of English. “I would like to see McCance full of readers and listeners in a mutually supportive, thriving and dynamic creative writing community.”

All forms of writing are welcome. Past readings have consisted of novels, plays, short stories, poems and creative nonfiction.

For more information or to sign up for a reading, contact Dr. Randolph at rrandolp@waynesburg.edu.
