In November, we give thanks and take time to gather with family and friends. We sit around tables with those that we love and create moments that will eventually turn into fond memories. It is a time to reflect and meditate on the beauty in our lives. What if we made a pact to speak our gratitudes and let others know what is in our hearts? What if we didn’t wait for another time or another day to tell people that we care about them? This November let’s tell our friends and family just how much they mean to us, right now.
Being grateful doesn’t have to be an activity we practice once a year on Thanksgiving. Living a life of gratitude can include a daily practice of noticing, with our hearts, the blessings in our lives. Please join the Writing Center in celebrating and reflecting on a month of gratitude. What are you most grateful for this autumn? Gratitudes can be small or large, anything from enjoying the first cup of coffee in the morning to being grateful for the love and support the people in your life offer you. We can be grateful for gaining wisdom after an experience, for learning how to slow down and soak in the day, and for honoring those quiet moments of life.
We would love to hear your observations and reflections this month. What small or large moments are you grateful for? Please send us your ideas and we will create a wall of gratitude in the Writing Center. Observations and gratitudes can be emailed to: stefanie.wielkopolan@waynesburg.edu
We can’t wait for you to join us!
Below are resources to help you get started. There is a five-day gratitude challenge and links to poetry, articles, and reflections. Enjoy!
