Waynesburg University has named Diana Hernández, daughter of Gilbert and Katya Hernández, a 2023 recipient of the distinguished Founders Scholarship.

"I am truly grateful and deeply honored to [receive] this award," shared Hernández. "I hope to honor God in these next years of my life and to prove worthy of such an honor."

She participates in Air Force JROTC, Christian Fellowship Club, the International Society and Impact, a photography team for her local youth group.

Hernández holds the position of Core Commander with her JROTC unit.

At Waynesburg, she will study communication.

"I am so excited for the next chapter of my life and [to experience] something so incredibly new and different at such an amazing university," Hernández added.

Other recipients of the Founders Scholarship for 2023 include Isabella Griffith, Mason Lewis, Waverly Lorne, Ethan Mata and Amanda Sweeney.
