The Waynesburg University Lamplighters Concert and Touring Choirs will perform Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem” in honor of loved ones lost to COVID-19 during two upcoming concerts.
The first performance will be held Tuesday, March 15, in Roberts Chapel at 11 a.m., and the second performance will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh Sunday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
Both concerts will be open to the public.
“Requiem” focuses on the biblical belief in death, resurrection and eternal life for people who put their faith in Christ as Savior.
“The beautiful French impressionistic harmonies will transport you into a reverent and other worldly place and will guide you through musical feelings of hope, despair, joy, sadness and finally peace in the finished work of Christ,” said Melanie Catana, director of Choral Music.
Those who wish to submit the name of a loved one to be honored can do by visiting waynesburg.edu/faurerequiem.
