“I am humbled and honored to be selected for the Founders Scholarship. I am very grateful and blessed to be given this opportunity, and I want to thank God, my family, teachers and coaches for helping me get there,” Norris said.

He is a student at Highlands High School, where he is involved in the National Honor Society, the International Club and is an AP student. Norris also plays varsity soccer and tennis, serving as captain of the varsity soccer team in his sophomore, junior and senior years.

He plays soccer for Steel City FC Academy 1 2005/2006, was a WPIAL all-section selection for three years and was named an all-star player during his senior year. Norris placed first in varsity singles tennis in his sophomore, junior and senior years. He was a WPIAL semi-finalist in his junior year.

Outside of academics and athletics, he volunteers at various local churches and serves as a liturgist for Trinity United Methodist Church.

At Waynesburg, Norris plans to study Secondary Education (7-12): Mathematics, minor in Biblical and Ministry Studies and play soccer.

“By being a daily presence in kids’ lives, I can listen, support and guide them. I have been so blessed to have people in my life that guide me to God, and I want to be that person for those kids,” he shared.
