Waynesburg U. holds Criminal Justice and Social Sciences Career Fair

Aubrey Lesnett Nov 2, 2026

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Waynesburg University hosted its annual Criminal Justice & Social Sciences Career Fair in Marisa Fieldhouse, bringing together approximately 200 students and 40 employers, agencies and organizations from across the region.

The event, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., provided students with opportunities to connect with potential employers, explore career options, learn about internships and graduate programs, and develop professional networking skills.

“The Criminal Justice and Social Sciences Career Fair is our largest job fair on campus,” said Sarah Bell, director of the Pathways Center. “This year, approximately 200 students participated in the event. The Criminal Justice Department prioritizes offering students valuable hands-on experience in and out of the classroom, and this event aligns well with that goal.”

Among the organizations represented were the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, West Virginia University Police, University of Pittsburgh Police, Carnegie Mellon University Police, Washington County Probation Services, Greene County Prison, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army ROTC.

“Career fairs help recruiters meet students where they are! It is a valuable opportunity for students to learn about openings, network, enhance professional skills, and in some cases even land a job or internship,” Bell said.

In addition to networking with employers, students had the opportunity to support the event by serving as Event Staff. This allowed students to gain hands-on experience while assisting with the organization and operation of the fair.

“Students are able to support the fair as Event Staff in addition to networking with employers, graduate schools, and community resources,” Bell said. “Employers are consistently impressed with the caliber of students that they meet at the Criminal Justice and Social Sciences Career Fair.”
