Waynesburg University’s Graduate and Professional Studies to host interest fair

Olivia Sanvicente Nov 30, 2023

Waynesburg University’s Graduate and Professional Studies will host an interest fair on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Waynesburg University Southpointe Center located at 1000 Horizon Vue Drive, Canonsburg, PA 15317.

Focused toward working professionals in the Pittsburgh region, the interest fair will provide an opportunity for potential students to explore the pathways for graduate and undergraduate degrees offered by just under 10 universities, including Waynesburg University.

Assistant Director of Admissions Blair Howarth explained that attendees will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with Graduate and Professional Studies staff to ask questions about the programs and ask about the application process to help find the program that will aid in their professional career.

“Ultimately, I hope that attendees are able to find the opportunity that will help them excel in their professional career path,” he said.

Among the programs featured at the event will be Waynesburg University’s online graduate and professional studies programs.

“Waynesburg University has graduate and professional programs that are 100% online,” David Mariner, associate vice president for enrollment management and assistant provost for Graduate and Professional Studies, said. “We can help a working professional manage their time and make pursuing a degree or credential possible.”

Since he transitioned to assistant director of admissions, developing opportunities for people to learn about their graduate and professional studies programs has been a team effort, said Howarth.

“Since starting this position it has been a team effort working with other University staff to develop opportunities for people to learn more about our Graduate and Professional Studies programs,” he explained. “Hosting this event at our Southpointe location is a perfect way to allow prospective students to start their own Waynesburg University experience.”
