William Dumire

Biography
William G. Dumire is a higher education technology executive with more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience spanning higher education, healthcare and the private sector. Throughout his career, he has successfully aligned technology strategy with institutional mission, operational excellence and organizational growth while fostering collaborative relationships among executive leadership, faculty, staff and external partners.
As Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Waynesburg University, Dumire provides executive leadership for the University’s information technology strategy, enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, academic technology, administrative systems and technology governance. He works closely with institutional leadership to advance strategic initiatives that strengthen teaching, learning, student success and administrative effectiveness through innovative and sustainable technology solutions.
Prior to joining Waynesburg University, Dumire served in senior technology leadership roles at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry and the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center, where he directed enterprise technology services, quality assurance initiatives, healthcare information systems, infrastructure modernization, information security, disaster recovery planning, and strategic technology operations supporting academic, clinical, research and administrative missions.
Earlier in his career, Dumire held information technology leadership positions within private industry, gaining broad experience in systems administration, networking, customer service, technical support, project management and organizational leadership. This combination of higher education, healthcare and private-sector experience provides him with a comprehensive perspective on leveraging technology to improve organizational performance and service delivery.
Dumire earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and a Master of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.
He and his wife, Teresa, are active members of Suncrest United Methodist Church in Morgantown, West Virginia, where they have served on numerous church committees and participated in worship and community service for many years.
