A Personal Note from Bill and Gail Coles

Greetings to Waynesburg University alumni, students, friends and supporters.

My name is Bill Coles, class of 1969, along with my wife Gail.

It doesn’t seem possible, but this year we will celebrate 50 years since our graduation.  How could that be possible?

Fortunately, the memories of our time at Waynesburg are still fresh. We cheered for our national championship football team, we laughed, and we cried at the death of Dr. Martin Luther King. What wasn’t obvious at the time was how we were learning the lessons that would shape the rest of our lives: leadership, faith and service to others.

Gail and I are honored to present a gift to the University for significant technology improvements in the Department of Communication. In the 1960s, campus communications were the Yellow Jacket that was published almost every week, the bulletin board at Benedum Hall and the rumor mill.  Today, the Department of Communication trains students in the arts of data collection, factual reporting, videography and broadcast skills. What a difference! What a necessity in today’s world.

Gail and I hope you can join us in this Department of Communication investment or a program area of your choosing.

God bless you all, and God bless Waynesburg University.

Gail & Bill Coles
