Waynesburg University has selected Anna Paterno as a 2026 recipient of the Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Jamie and Gregory Paterno.
Paterno is a resident of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and a 2026 graduate of Hempfield High School. She was a Top 10% awardee each year of her high school career. She participated in many extracurricular activities including marching band (serving as drum major for two years), choir, concert band, show choir and performing as a cast member and dance captain in Hempfield’s musicals.
Paterno is a member of numerous honor societies including National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National English Honor Society and International Thespians Society.
She has danced for 14 years at Susan Yadamec Dance Company, including tap, contemporary, jazz, ballet, pointe and musical theatre.
She is a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Greensburg, and she is an active member of the church musical program.
Paterno will major in chemistry this fall at Waynesburg University in the fall.
