Dan Dvorchak, Class of 1968, supports Waynesburg University because it’s where his foundation was built—not just academically, but personally and spiritually. As a student-athlete, he learned the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, especially as a member of the 1966 NAIA championship football team. These lessons stayed with him far beyond the field, shaping how he approached challenges in both his personal and professional life. Waynesburg’s mission of faith, learning, and service deeply aligned with his own values, instilling in him a lifelong commitment to giving back and lifting others up.
Through his support of the Daniel M. Dvorchak Endowed Scholarship, Dan seeks to ensure that future generations of students have the same opportunities he did—to grow, to lead, and to pursue lives of purpose. As part of our 175th Anniversary celebration, Dan contributed a generous gift that enabled the home locker room at John F. Wiley Stadium to be named in honor of the head coach of that 1966 championship team, Carl DePasqua.
For Dan, it’s not just about giving money—it’s about honoring the place that helped shape who he is. His continued generosity reflects both gratitude and hope: a meaningful investment in students who will one day carry forward the same spirit of excellence, leadership, and faith that defined his time at Waynesburg.
