Madilyn Paterno selected to receive Waynesburg U. Leadership Award

Waynesburg University has selected Madilyn Paterno as a 2026 recipient of the Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Jamie and Gregory Paterno.

Paterno is a resident of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and a 2026 graduate of Hempfield High School. She was a Top 10% awardee each year of her high school career. She was active in many extracurricular activities including marching band (serving as percussion section leader for three years), concert band (including two years as a pit musician), and performing as a featured dancer in Hempfield’s musicals.

Paterno is a member of numerous honor societies including National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Math Honor Society and National English Honor Society.

She has danced for 14 years at Susan Yadamec Dance Company, including tap, contemporary, jazz, ballet, pointe and hip-hop.

She is a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Greensburg, and she is an active member of the church musical program.

Paterno will major in forensic chemistry this fall at Waynesburg University in the fall.
