Ashley Wise Jan 31, 2020

Mindy Walls, the W. Robert Stover Chair for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Waynesburg University, has been elected to serve as the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s (USASBE) Senior Vice President for Membership, effective January 2020.

In this role, Walls is responsible for growing and retaining USASBE membership. She also serves on USASBE’s Executive Committee, which is the governing board for the organization's operations.

USASBE is an inclusive community advancing entrepreneurship education through bold teaching, scholarship and practice. Its membership is comprised of almost 1000 teachers, students, scholars, center directors and practitioners.

“USASBE has been a valuable resource for me over the course of my career,” said Walls. “I have had the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from some of the leading teachers and scholars in the field, and I am very excited about the opportunity to serve the organization.”

At Waynesburg, Walls leads the University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, which strives to create a culture of proactive, innovative, ethical, problem solving that will provide students with the skills, abilities and experiences they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Under her leadership, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program has developed a number of key partnerships, on campus, in the community, in the region and across the United States; piloted three new courses and created an 18-credit, cross-campus academic minor; and developed a Faculty Fellowship program to support expansion of Entrepreneurial Leadership across the curriculum.

Additionally, Waynesburg recently launched the eHIVE, a cross-campus center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, which hosts events to foster the entrepreneurial mindset, creativity and innovation, as well as provide venture creation coaching.
