Waynesburg U. launches new 24/7 AI Recruiter

Kayla Ayers Feb 16, 2026

Waynesburg University’s Office of Admissions recently launched a new tool to further enhance the Admissions experience for prospective students and their families by providing 24/7 access to answers for their enrollment questions through Buzz, a friendly AI Recruiter.

We’re excited to provide this option for prospective students to ask questions at any time, especially after office hours, which is when a lot of students are actively seeking information.”

Dr. Mariner

With the help of Buzz, students can receive answers to their questions within seconds, including during evenings, weekends and holidays.

“We’re excited to provide this option for prospective students to ask questions at any time, especially after office hours, which is when a lot of students are actively seeking information,” said Dr. David Mariner, associate vice president for enrollment management and assistant provost for Graduate and Professional Studies at Waynesburg University.

Waynesburg University partnered with CollegeVine, an AI platform made for higher education, to build a safe, customized AI experience to meet the diverse needs of its students, recognizing that most college searches and application submissions happen outside of normal business hours.

Buzz draws from a trusted knowledge base built by Waynesburg University faculty and staff across campus to provide answers to common questions regarding admissions, financial aid, scholarships, campus life, academic programs, athletics and more. For questions that require a human response, Buzz will always direct students to a University employee for more information.

“Students can still expect to regularly communicate with our Admissions team, faculty and coaches as they go through the enrollment process,” shared Dr. Mariner. “This tool won’t replace that human component, but it will give students an additional resource when a person isn’t available.”

Both undergraduate and graduate students can communicate with Buzz directly via a chatbot on the University’s website or by calling 724-724-8138 for questions on Undergraduate Admissions or 724-724-8620 for questions on Graduate and Professional Studies Programs.
